Stuart Young is an incredibly talented songwriter and an amazing singer. He reminds me of Van Morrisson, Glen Hansard and Damien Rice but that's only a smattering of his influences which make up a sound that is truly unique and grabs your attention immediately. His new songs pack a lot of raw, passionate emotion and I can't wait to get back into the studio with him!”

There’s something familiar about Stuart Young even if you’re seeing him perform for the first time. It’s the same comfortable familiarity you feel when you’re in the company of family. His courageous transparency makes for a great evening of music and storytelling, and by the end of the night, you’re no longer surrounded by an audience and a performer but by a room full of family. ”

Stuart Young

Stuart Young at the age of 26, is coming off his second album, "Hold On" and has been touring on and off ever since. He was raised in the beautiful state of Maine in where music became a passion at the age of 13. He started playing bars and cafe’s at the age of 15 and has continued to love sharing his heart through songwriting ever since. He wants to start a conversation, not just deliver a song and leave. Many of the songs he writes are taken from the most intimate parts of his journal. Tattered and torn but longing for hope; he delivers a song with such transparency that echo the hardships and questions he has on life. He invites the listener to look for hope in the darkness and peace in the pain. Music breaks walls down that people have built over time in their lives. Music allows authentic community to take place. When I write, I write in mind of the listener. I want the ears that listen to have the freedom to ask questions and see hope in the darkness that surround them in life. Music has a way of doing that. People are my priority in music and to bring conversation through music.”

Whether he plays in front of a living room of five people, or to a venue of a thousand, his transparent composure does not shift. He is willing to show weakness so that his songs translate as being honest and vulnerable. He passionately strums and sings every note in the songs. He brings a full sound in a solo environment that will move people to think and ponder these songs with him. He invites community into every show. He invites you into the song itself.
